About Maxwell Larweh MD

Dr. Maxwell Larweh, an Infectious Disease specialist, received his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of surgery
(MB ChB) from the University of Ghana, West Africa in 1998. He completed the General Internal Medicine
Residency at the Cleveland Clinic Huron Hospital in Cleveland Ohio in 2005. He practiced as a general internist caring for patients both inpatient and out-patients from 2005 to 2013 before undertaking sub-specialty training in Infectious Disease Fellowship at the Baylor Scott and White hospital in Temple Texas, under the Texas A&M University. His fellowship training included a rotation at the MD Andersen Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Starting in 1999, Dr. Larweh worked in Ghana his home country pursuing post graduate training and from 2002
as a general internal medicine resident in Cleveland Ohio. After his residency with the Cleveland Clinic Health System Huron Hospital, he practiced from 2005 to 2008 in a rural underserved hospital and clinic in Tillamook, Oregon where he worked as a primary care physician for patients often waiting transfer to tertiary centers for consults. His primary passion during his time in Tillamook, which won him a lot of admiration, was to stabilize critically ill patients well enough before transfer. He made sure his patients and their families were armed with explanation about what the situation was and what to expect during tertiary care before transfer to a bigger hospital in a less familiar environment. His patients had access to his direct phone number all the time; to date he prefers his patients have direct access to him. Since moving to Omaha in 2008, he has continued to practice internal medicine in Hospital Medicine and Outpatient care. One of his highlights in the metro area is the privilege to care for active and veteran Military service men and women at the Offut AFB, as well as members of the surrounding communities of Bellevue Nebraska and Western Iowa.

Dr. Larweh strives to practice evidence-based medicine and enjoys the experience of building relationships with
patients and their families. He makes it easy for you to have direct access to him, gives you time to talk, listens
carefully to you. Using a combination of clinical findings and diagnostic data, he addresses the concerns of his
patients.

In addition to his academic qualifications, Dr. Larweh takes advantage of numerous continuous medical
education opportunities to build on his expertise. He is board certified in Infectious Disease, and an active
member of American Medical Association and Infectious Disease Society of America.
